Stepping off the familiar path, I ventured into uncharted territory. My passion for helping people became my guiding light, revealing a new way to a fulfilling, purpose-driven life.
For 25 years, I dedicated myself to the field of audiology, finding joy and fulfillment in helping my patients. That ah-ha moment when they put the hearing aids in and could hear clearly—that was the moment I lived for. However, as time passed, the landscape of my job shifted. What was once a fulfilling profession centered around helping people transformed into a sales-driven environment, a change that felt incongruent with who I truly am.
The shift continued to worsen until finally, one day, I came home and told my husband, “I’m done. I don’t know what I am going to do, but I am done!” For as long as I can remember, audiology was my passion—I truly loved my patients. To have something I cared so deeply about turn into something entirely different was heartbreaking. But I had to explore other avenues if I was ever going to find that same sense of fulfillment I once had in my job.
It was my husband, Aaron, who said, “Well, you’ve always been interested in real estate.” He planted the seed, and from there, the idea grew. With newfound determination, I embraced the challenge, starting a career in real estate in 2018. It was nerve-wracking leaving behind my longstanding career, but the excitement to try something new outweighed any doubts I felt.
My compassion, problem-solving skills and genuine desire to make a difference in people’s lives translated seamlessly from working with patients to helping people buy and sell real estate. I love going above and beyond for people—real estate presents endless opportunities to do just that!
What has made this journey truly fulfilling is the community around me. Real estate became more than a career; it became a conduit for creating connections. Through interactions with clients, involvement in church activities and the unwavering support of friends and family, I developed my roots in this community, meeting people I otherwise may never have crossed paths with. It truly is an honor and privilege to serve people from all walks of life, guiding them through the life-changing processes of real estate.
Just as I seek to help people through real estate, I try to do the same in my personal life. Through my church, I recently organized a Ladies Night Out with the goal of bringing women together and uplifting one another. This was inspired by an experience I had at a four-day military-style boot camp in Destin, Florida: the Shield Maiden Immersion. From 5:30 am to midnight, we did intense activities and militant-style exercises. Frankly, that first day, I didn’t think I was going to make it through. But I did!
This experience forced me to face challenges head-on and establish my priorities more clearly. It rekindled my passion for uplifting and empowering women, wanting to share the impact of this experience. Those four days became a catalyst for a new mission—one where I come alongside women, offering support, encouragement and a sense of community. What started as a small event turned into 147 women attending. It was beautiful bringing women together, listening to inspirational speakers and bonding. I can’t wait to continue building on this, striving to have a greater impact within my community!
A big part of my life is entertaining people along with my husband, Aaron. We love to host parties and events at our house, bringing people from different parts of our lives together. With family and friends, we love watching football, enjoying Aaron’s cooking, throwing bonfires, fishing, and playing water volleyball. We take pride in our two children, Megan and Aric, along with his wife, Vivienne. They live out of state, but we love planning to see them as often as possible.
As I reflect on this incredible journey, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities, the challenges and the relationships that have shaped me. Real estate, intertwined with personal growth, community building and a commitment to empowering others, has become not just a career but a calling.
The genuine care I invest in my clients goes beyond the transactional; I believe in building meaningful relationships. I understand how important this process is, and I do not take my responsibility as your advocate lightly. In addition to conventional real estate services, I offer staging assistance at no extra charge. The feel of a home when you walk into it plays a crucial role in the selling process, and I ensure each property is presented in its best light, from well-placed furniture to thoughtfully selected décor. For buyers, I highlight all the pros and cons of a property, even doing side-by-side tours of large lots of land, including farm and hunting grounds. When the transaction ends, our relationship doesn’t—I remain your trusted REALTOR® here to support you through every real estate venture and beyond!
Sincerely,
Sue Whipple
